Remarkably, the opposite of fear is not courage, but love.
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear . . . The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”
1 John 4:18
1 John 4:18
So the antidote to fear is love.
One of the most inspiring passages in the entire Bible is one that I cling to often:
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-39
Romans 8:38-39
When you know you are loved, you find remarkable inner strength to face whatever challenges life may bring.
Perhaps this is why Kathleen Kelly was able to face her future. She learned that NY152, her online love interest, and Joe Fox, who had become a close friend, were one and the same.
She felt doubly loved.
He has pursued her on two levels, he has been closer than she ever imagined, and he has given her courage through it all.
Readers, have you discovered courage in love?
